1. Find the perfect distance

Look for two sturdy trees or anchor points about 10-15 feet apart. This ensures the right amount of slack for a comfortable hang without feeling too tight or too loose

2. Hang with the right sag

A flat, tight hammock isn’t comfy, aim for a gentle curve with about a 30-degree angle between the suspension and the anchor points. This setup improves comfort and stability

3. lay diagonal for max comfort

Instead of lying straight down the middle, shift your body at a slight angle. This flattens out the fabric and offers a more ergonomic, supportive position.

4. Secure your suspension system

Use high-quality straps that won’t damage trees and provide strong, adjustable support. Avoid thin ropes that can dig into bark or create an unstable setup.

6. Stay bug free

If you’re hammocking in a wooded or tropical area, invest in a bug net. Mosquitoes and other pests can turn a perfect nap into an itchy nightmare.
