I purchased this hammock during recent sale. For the past (3) weeks I have slept in it for 18/21 days. The first week temps over night were only mid 30 deg and I only needed sweatpants and sweatshirt, warm and cozy over night. The second week and this week over night temps have been low 20 deg, I have added a light weight sleeping bag inside this hammock. What is great about this hammock is that I no longer need an under quilt or over quilt for winter camping. Actually since I sleep outside at min 5 nights a week (due to back problems hammock is only way I can sleep without pain during the day) this is the best winter set up I have found. I own over dozen hammock and Grand Trunk is the best due to quality and the fact it does not stretch like the other name brand hammock. I have a permit hammock stand at my house in the back yard. I have used hammocks for over 20 years ever since my son stared camping with Boy Scouts and our troop only uses hammocks.
Absolutely amazing cold weather hammock. Tested this out on a breezy 20 degree fahrenheit night in central Minnesota. With jeans and a light hoody / wool socks, I did feel a little chilled, but if I brought a hand warmer/gloves and was dressed appropriately with the right materials for cold season camping I'd be extremely comfortable with those temps as long as it's dry. This thing is unbelievably cozy. Picked it up and have been glad that I can use it for December camping. It's not quite as warm as my zero degree setup on the ground, but extremely convenient for its weight and much better than sleeping on the cold ground. I can't say enough great things about this hammock. Even though my other trunk tech double hammock had the stitching give out on the stuff sack and a hole that makes it nonfunctional, I still think this company makes the best quality products. Incredibly well designed and thought out gear. I recommend and many of my friends purchase these products now too. Huge quality of life improvements with this gear while out adventuring.
I was skeptical at first. But after I got it my mind began accepting the fact that I spent so much money on a hammock. Let’s put it to the test. The temp was 30°F and a 10pm wind. Set it up. Crawled inside. It was like crawling into bed. So warm and cozy. My mind was blown. My fellow hammockers. Jealousy doesn’t even begin to explain what they were feeling. To say the least. If I had to buy another one. I wouldn’t think twice
