I've taken this stool on two backpacking trips with my family. I love it. At 6'5" most portable stools take a lot of work for me to squat into and a lot more work to stand up. This one is an ideal height to sit with the stove while two of our Grand Trunk hammocks keep watch.
Recently upgraded to the Compass 360 XT Swivel Stool from a fixed stool. The freedom that the swivel allows is awesome, as is the extra height. I'm only 6 ft. tall, but the extra height is just right. Very solid construction and great design (super compact)--worth the money.

I will be prepared for next January community fire circle at HangCon in Florida with my 360 XT swivel stool! Easy to turn and talk to people, easy to carry to fire and move around. I can sell some of my larger camp chairs because this is perfect!
